A Mumbai Police head constable has died after being hit by the deadly Coronavirus. A 57-year-old policeman has died. This is the first death in the police department from Coronavirus.

The 57-year-old policeman was a constable in the Mumbai Police. He was undergoing treatment at Kasturba Hospital after being Covid-19 infected. After the police constable was found coronavirus infected, the police personnel on duty with him were quarantined and the coronavirus test was done.
The deceased policeman is survived by his wife, 2 sons, and 1 daughter. The policemen were originally from Devgad in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra who lived in the Worli area of Mumbai. The deceased police constable was admitted to the Mumbai Police Force on 1 December 1988. The close of the family is telling that if everything was fine, after serving in the police force for nearly 33 years, he was going to retire in January next year.
The number of Covid-19 patients in Maharashtra has crossed 7000 and the death toll in the state has touched 300. In Mumbai too, the number of Covid-19 infection patients has exceeded 4500. Let us tell you that according to the data released by the state government on March 22, 96 policemen of Maharashtra Police have coronavirus, which includes 15 officers and 81 jawans. Out of this, 3 officers and 4 jawans have been cured. At present, 89 policemen are being treated in the state, of which 12 are officers.
