Harvey Weinstein Guilty in MeToo Movement

American film producer Harvey Weinstein sentenced to 23 years in sexual abuse case

#MeToo Movement: American film producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced by a New York judge to 23 years in the rape and sexual abuse case on Wednesday. This kind of sentencing is an example of the last year’s Meitu movement. Justin James Burke passed the sentence, ignoring Weinstein’s defense team’s plea. Weinstein’s defense said that Harvey should only be sentenced to five years, which is a life sentence for Harvey.

Earlier, Harvey Weinstein told the court that he was completely confused about what was really happening. Let me tell you that Harvey was convicted last month of sexual assault and rape. As a result, a seven-man and five-woman bench held Harvey guilty of criminal sexual harassment in the first degree. He was also convicted of rape in the third degree.

The 67-year-old Weinstein was accused of sexual abuse and rape by nearly 90 women. Harvey has been accused of sexual harassment and molestation for years, following which his career was also ruined in 2017.

The #MeToo movement started after allegations of sexual harassment on Harvey. The case proved to be a milestone for the #MeToo movement, after which women and men from all over the world took part in the movement and expressed their pain.
