CAA Protest: Students Protest After Jamia Firing, Case Filed Against Accused


Jamia Firing Case: People have been demonstrating for over a month and a half over the country over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Many people have lost their lives in these demonstrations while many have been injured. At the same time, women are sitting on the street in Shaheen Bagh in Delhi. Students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia and leaders of opposition parties are also involved in this demonstration.


Tension erupted on Thursday when a student of Jamia Millia Islamia University was injured after a man fired a pistol at a group demonstrating against the amended citizenship law (CAA). Amid the huge deployment of the police, he shouted, ‘Ye Lo Azadi’ and fired. After this, the police arrested him. After the incident, widespread demonstrations began in the area. Hundreds of people gathered near the university broke barricades and clashed with policemen.

Case filed against the man


Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police Devesh Srivastava said that they (students) were demanding a demonstration at Rajghat. We stopped them because they were not allowed any such permission to perform here. A case has been registered under Section 370 of the IPC and Arms Act against the person who fired. Further action is being taken.

Current and former students arrived at the New Friends Colony police station to register an FIR after being shot by a man outside Jamia.

Chandrashekhar Azad arrived to meet the injured student

Outside Jamia, Chandrasekhar Azad arrives at AIIMS to meet a shot-injured student Shadab Farooq. Azad is demanding to go inside AIIMS. Please tell that Farooq was shot by a person outside Jamia on Thursday after which the students demonstrated fiercely.

Police force deployed outside Jamia

At the same time, a heavy police force has been deployed at Jamia Milia Islamia University in view of the demonstration.
