Congress leader Hardik Patel Arrested Again Due To Allegation of Sedition


Hardik Patel: Congress leader Hardik Patel, who played a major role in the Patidar movement in Gujarat, has been arrested again on Saturday. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him in the 2015 treason case. Hardik Patel has been arrested near Viramgam in Ahmedabad district.


DCP Rajdeep Singh Jala (Cybercrime) has also confirmed his arrest. He said, ‘The court issued a non-bailable warrant against him. After this, Hardik Patel has been arrested. He will be produced in court on Sunday.

Hardik Patel has already been arrested in this case. On August 25, 2015, following the violence at the Patel community rally in Ahmedabad, a case of treason was registered against him by the local crime branch.

He was released on bail in July 2016 after being in jail for a long time. Charges have been framed against Hardik Patel and other accused in November 2018. On Saturday, Additional Sessions Judge BG Ganatra issued a warrant of arrest against Hardik Patel after accepting the government’s plea.

The government lawyer told the court that the accused wanted to hang the case and that is why they are repeatedly seeking exemption from production. The court also found that he was also violating the conditions of bail and that he was not appearing regularly during the hearing. Hardik Patel joined the Congress before the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
