On the ban on the internet in Kashmir, a member of NITI Aayog, VK Saraswat, while clarifying the controversial statement, said that my statement has been misinterpreted. If this misunderstanding has hurt the sentiments of the people of Kashmir, I apologize. People of Kashmir did not understand that I am against giving internet facility to Kashmiris.

Earlier, Saraswat had said during a conversation with journalists that if there is a ban on the Internet in Kashmir, then it does not matter anyway, it is only seen dirty films on it. He said, ‘What is the difference if there is no Internet in Kashmir? What do you see on the internet? Is e-tailing happening there? Apart from watching dirty movies, you don’t do anything on it (the internet).
Saraswat further said that leaders want to agitate in Kashmir like Delhi. He said, ‘These leaders who want to go there want to go so that the movement which is happening on the streets of Delhi, they want to do it there. NITI Aayog Member VK Saraswat said, There is a way. There is a reason why the internet is closed in Kashmir.
If we have to make Article 370 famous in Kashmir and bring Kashmir forward as a state, then we know that there are some people there, there are some elements who will misuse such information. The law and order that we want to bring there will spoil it.

Explain that after the removal of Article 370, the prepaid mobile service which has been discontinued in the entire state has been restored after five months. SMS facility will also be available on this. 2G mobile internet service has been started in all 10 districts of the Jammu division and two districts of Kashmir division, Kupwara, and Bandipora. Only postpaid mobile consumers will be able to take advantage of the mobile internet.
Government spokesman Rohit Kansal said that a list of 153 websites (white list) has been released, which consumers will be able to take advantage of. Necessary instructions have been given to all mobile companies.
