IPL 2020: Due to the threat of Coronavirus, the BCCI has decided to postpone the 13th season of the IPL starting on March 29. The BCCI will now organize a new season from April 15. The International Cricket Council has given information about this by tweeting. The franchisees, who took part in the IPL from the BCCI, also demanded to postpone the season till 15 April.

The ICC has announced to go ahead with the IPL dates. The ICC has said that now the 13th season of the Indian Premier League will start from 15 April instead of 29 March. Even before the announcement of the ICC, there were speculations that the dates of this season could be extended in the IPL Governing Council meeting to be held on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, the decision of the Delhi government increased the difficulties of the BCCI. The Delhi government had banned the conduct of IPL 2020 matches in the state. However, after the decision of the Delhi government by the BCCI, the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals had found options for a new home ground.

Apart from Delhi, in view of the danger of coronavirus, other states were also working to increase the difficulties for BCCI. The Maharashtra government on Friday announced a ban on IPL ticket sales in the state. The Karnataka government is also considering banning the IPL event in its state.

Foreign players also will not get the visa

Earlier on Wednesday, the Indian government also refused to give visas to foreign players. The Indian government has banned the visa to foreign players till April 15. After this decision of the Government of India, the franchisees had asked the board to postpone the league by 15 April.

The BCCI had earlier announced that the IPL will be held between March 29 and May 24. However, the BCCI has not given any information regarding the schedule.
