IIT Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has achieved great success in producing such a portable ventilator, which is very cheap and suitable for emergency use. Aerobiosys Innovations, an incubated startup of the Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship of IIT Hyderabad, designed this low-cost ventilator at a time when the entire world including India is battling the coronavirus.
This ventilator has been named ‘Jeevan Lite‘, which is equipped with hi-tech and many features. It can be operated through the mobile app and can be easily moved from one place to another. Not only this, if the power supply is interrupted or there is a problem of electricity in some area, then it can be operated from the battery.

After reviewing the progress of Jeevan Lite, Professor B.T. S. Murthy said that most of the patients infected with coronavirus need emergency life support who are elderly. It can be used for people of all ages in the absence of oxygen.
Renu John, a professor at the Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship, says that Jeevan Lite ventilators are better than other inexpensive devices. It has wireless connectivity and can be controlled remotely. Doctors and medical staff will also be protected from ‘Jeevan Lite’ in the outbreak of Coronavirus.
This device offers protection to healthcare providers as well as it is Internet of Things-enabled and can be operated through a phone app. It can also be battery-operated, enabling its deployment in areas without assured power supply: IIT,Hyderabad (2/3) https://t.co/f19HVviKZW

Jeevan Lite will be available from the first week of April
Professor Renu John says that this will remove the lack of ventilator in the coronavirus crisis. We appeal to the industry partners and the government to come forward to make it in a big way. Aerobiosis Innovations is planning to make Jeevan Lite available for Rs 1 lakh. Currently, the price of a ventilator controlled through a computer is between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 40 lakh. Jeevan Lite will be available in the market from the first week of April.
Coronavirus infected patients experience difficulty in breathing
Actually, the patient who is affected by the coronavirus starts having trouble breathing. The demand for a ventilator has increased in the country due to the increase in coronavirus cases. Given the increasing number of patients, there is a shortage of ventilators in the country. In such a situation, Jeevan Lite will be helpful in removing a shortage of ventilator and fighting coronavirus.
Let us tell you that the coronavirus spread from Wuhan city of China has engulfed the whole world including India. So far, more than 1 million people worldwide have fallen prey to it, of which more than 54 thousand people have died globally.
