Three days later, he was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad. The elder’s family took him away the same day and the elder died at around 10:30 pm.

Earlier, the District Health and Family Welfare Department had informed on Wednesday that an elderly person who was suspected to be infected with the coronavirus died. In an official note of the department, the deceased has been identified as Mohammad Hussain Siddiqui, who died in a government hospital on Tuesday.

Department officials had said, ‘His samples were sent to a laboratory in Bangalore for examination. Awaiting report. ‘ He said that Siddiqui had recently returned from Saudi Arabia where he had gone for a religious visit.

The number of people infected in the country rose to 76 on Thursday after 16 new cases of coronavirus were reported in seven states of India. The Health Ministry said that out of these 16 new cases, 11 cases have been reported from Maharashtra while one each has been reported from Delhi, Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. A foreign national has also been found infected by it.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government on Thursday announced the closure of schools, colleges and cinema houses as a precautionary measure till 31 March in view of the rising outbreak of Coronavirus. Only those schools and colleges will be open where exams are going on.

The disease has killed at least 4,600 people worldwide and about 1,25,293 people have been infected. The Center and the States have stepped up efforts to deal with this transition and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the countrymen not to panic.

PM Modi appealed to the people of the country to be cautious about the Covid-19 and said that the government is fully alert and people can stop its spread by avoiding gathering in large groups. The Prime Minister tweeted on Covid-19, “Say no to panic, say yes to caution.”
