COVID-19 Telangana: The Telangana cabinet has decided to extend the statewide ongoing lockdown on the global pandemic Coronavirus (COVID-19) till May 7. Along with this, it was decided in the cabinet meeting that the situation of the state will be reviewed on 5 May.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced on Sunday (April 19) the extension of the lockdown issued in the state to May 7. Talking to reporters after the state cabinet meeting, he said that the lockdown will be implemented in the state in a strict manner. He said that no food delivery app would be allowed to operate in the state from Monday (April 20).

According to the report of the Health Ministry, “18 people have died due to this virus in Telangana, while 186 patients have been cured of this disease. The total number of infected patients in the state is 844”.

Four policemen still infected with coronavirus in Telangana

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old constable of the Hyderabad Police was confirmed to have been infected with the coronavirus on Sunday (19 April). The day before, his coworkers succumbed to the deadly virus. Police said that both were on duty in the city from 1 to 5 April and had taken all precautionary measures.

A senior police official said that on Saturday (April 18) a constable was found infected with the coronavirus, while his co-worker was confirmed to be infected on Sunday. The family members of both the constables, one sub-inspector and four constables have been sent to the government segregation. Four policemen have been infected with the Coronavirus so far in the state, three of whom are from Hyderabad.
