Covid-19 News: Amid an increasing number of coronavirus patients in Pakistan, China said on Monday that it is building a temporary hospital in Pakistan to treat patients infected with the coronavirus (Covid-19). China has already sent medical teams to Pakistan some time ago.


Health officials said on Monday that the number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 1,664 while 18 people have died due to the Covid-19 epidemic so far. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told reporters here, “Recently, the epidemic is spreading in Pakistan as well. We can understand their condition very well.

In response to a question, she said, “The Chinese government has supplied check kits, masks, defensive suits, and ventilators, etc. to Pakistan. We will also help build temporary hospitals in Pakistan. Construction of this hospital has been started last week.


China built two temporary hospitals in Wuhan in early February with a capacity of 2,300 beds. Hua Chunying said that China has invited Pakistan to attend a video conference on the coronavirus and a team of medical experts is in Islamabad.

The spokesman said, “China and Pakistan are deep friends, strategic allies and partners. We have a good tradition of supporting and helping each other in difficult times. Pakistan President Arif Alvi visited China on 16 March and met his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping along with other leaders to demonstrate ‘solidarity’ with their friendly country.

Significantly, Pakistan did not evacuate more than one thousand of its citizens from China. Although these people were pleading again and again. Pakistan said that China has promised to take care of its citizens.
