COVID-19: So far 258 coronavirus infected patients reported in Uttar Pradesh, 108 people of Tablighi Jamaat


COVID-19 UP: A total of 75 new patients infected with the coronavirus were found in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. It includes 54 people from Tablighi Jamaat. So far, coronavirus has been confirmed in a total of 258 people in the state. There are 108 patients who joined Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin Markaz. Only in Western UP, the number of corona-infected people has reached 135. The state government has so far identified 1302 people from the Tablighi Jamaat. Meanwhile, an elderly man in contact with Jamaat people died in Kanpur on Saturday. However, he has not yet been confirmed to have a corona infection. Samples have been sent for testing.


So far, a maximum of 58 patients has been found in Noida. At the same time, 268 suspected COVID-19 patients were admitted to various hospitals. While two more patients were discharged. So far, the number of healthy patients has also increased to 21. This includes an elderly man admitted at Ursula Hospital in Kanpur, who was sent home from the hospital after recovering fully. Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that the people involved in the Tablighi Jamaat are the main reason behind the rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 positive patients in the last two days. Coronavirus infection has now spread to a total of 30 districts in UP.

The patients found so far are 58 from Noida, 44 from Agra, 32 from Meerut, 14 from Ghaziabad, 10 from Lucknow, 7 from Kanpur, Lakhimpurkiri one, two from Pilibhit, five from Varanasi, six from Shamli, three from Jaunpur, three from Baghpat. Two, Bareilly six, Bulandshahar three, Basti five, Hapur one, Ghazipur two, Azamgarh three, Firozabad four, Saharanpur 13 Hardoi one, Pratapgarh three, Banda one, Shahjahanpur one, Maharajganj six, Hathras Four, Mirzapur four, and Or a three and a patient of Barabanki.


On the other hand, 21 people who have been declared healthy so far include eight from Agra, eight from Noida, three from Ghaziabad and one each from Kanpur and Lucknow. The Principal Secretary says that the elderly are also recovering from this infection. There is no reason to panic. Only social distancing will have to be strictly followed.

4280 report came negative, 177 to come

So far, samples of a total of 4457 people have been sent to the lab for testing in UP and out of this, 4280 patients have reported negative means that coronavirus (COVID-19) was not found in them. A report of 177 people is yet to come. On the other hand, the Rapid Response Team on Saturday identified 17870 such people who have returned from traveling abroad. To date, 59994 people have been identified in UP.

1302 deposits identified so far, all quarantined

Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Kumar Awasthi said that 1302 people associated with Tablighi Jamaat have been identified and quarantined after medical examination. Out of a total of 306 people who came from abroad after 1 February 2020, 305 foreign persons have been quarantined in Marklaj of Tablighi Jamaat. A total of 36 FIRs have been registered against these foreign individuals for violating lock-down etc. under sections of 36 FIRs, Epidemic Act, Foreigners Act, and Visa Rules, etc.

131 FIRs registered in black marketing

Additional Chief Secretary Home said that 131 FIRs have been registered in the state so far under the EC Act on charges of black marketing and profiteering. Similarly, 8367 FIRs have been filed against the lockdown violators under Section 188 of the IPC. 5301 barriers have been installed at various places in the state. With this, 1010224 vehicles have been checked so far, of which 213893 vehicles have been challenged and 15549 vehicles have been seized. A mitigation fee of Rs 4,18,23,243 has been recovered from the seized vehicles.
