At the same time, US President Donald Trump said that his country has done more than the investigation of COVID-19 in 10 other countries including India. Trump said that the US is making steady progress in its war against coronavirus disease and the country has so far tested 41.8 lakh people. He said, “This is a record compared to any other country in the world.”

“We have investigated more than France, Britain, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, India, Austria, Australia, Sweden, and Canada – all of these countries combined,” Trump told reporters at the White House press conference.

New York, the worst affected by the deadly COVID-19, has 2,42,000 cases of infection and more than 17,600 people have died so far. There has been a 50 percent decrease in the number of new cases reported here in the last eight days. Trump said, ‘This is a good number. It is good to see it after going through adversity.’

According to Donald Trump, countries like Italy and Spain that were initially against enforcing the bandh in the country have to pay a big price. He said that if the bandh were not implemented in the country and social distance measures were not taken, then millions of people would have died. Trump noted the steps taken by his administration on a war footing to deal with the global epidemic crisis and reassured the countrymen that the country was going to be safe.
