Covid19 Update: Paytm employee infected by Coronavirus; returned to India after a vacation from Italy


Covid19 Update: After several countries including China, the coronavirus is now spreading in India. On Wednesday evening, an employee of the digital payment app Paytm has also been confirmed to be infected with Coronavirus (Covid19). The company issued a statement on Wednesday, saying that one of its employees has been found to be tested positive, after which the company has advised its employees to work from home for the next two days.


The company has said in the statement that the infected worker has recently returned from Italy on a holiday. The company has advised all its employees to work from home for the next few days as a precautionary measure. A spokesman for the Paytm company has said that the team members of the aggrieved employee have been advised to undergo a health test immediately. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to keep the offices clean and tidy. The company said that this would not affect our daily operations and Paytm services would continue as usual.

Let us know that the coronavirus which has taken the form of an epidemic in China has now started to wreak havoc in India, where on Wednesday, the number of infected people suddenly increased to 28. There are 16 Italian tourists among the infected. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Wednesday that so far 28 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the country, including 16 tourists from Italy.

Harsh Vardhan told a press conference after a review meeting of the precautionary measures taken by the ministry to deal with the situation arising out of the coronavirus, that all travelers traveling abroad will be examined at airports. Till now only travelers coming to India from 12 countries under the purview of Coronavirus infection were being screened.

It has killed 3,000 people worldwide and more than 90,000 people are infected by it. The Ministry of External Affairs said on Wednesday that 17 Indians abroad have been infected with the coronavirus, of which 16 cases have come from the cruise ship of Japan while one from the UAE is involved. The office of President Ram Nath Kovind said that this time ‘Holi Milan’ will not be held in Rashtrapati Bhavan.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that they will not celebrate the festival of Holi and no ‘Holi Milan’ will be organized. Modi tweeted, “Experts around the world have advised reducing the number of people gathering to prevent the spread of the Covid19 virus.” So this year I have decided not to attend any ‘Holi Milan’ celebrations.
