Delhi Violence: NSA Ajit Doval met Amit Shah after visiting the violence-affected areas of Delhi


Delhi Violence: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval briefed Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday (26 February) concerning the present law and order situation in North East Delhi. A senior officer gave details about this.


Earlier, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval stated on Wednesday (February 26) after meeting with senior Delhi Police officers that the situation in North East Delhi was under control. He also visited some violence-affected areas on Wednesday afternoon.

The communal violence that started three days ago in North East Delhi has up to now killed at least 24 people and injured over 200 people. Jafarabad, Maujpur, Babarpur, Yamuna Vihar, Bhajanpura, Chand Bagh, Shiv Vihar have been mainly affected by the riots.

Doval is entrusted with the responsibility of stopping the violence. He held a gathering with the top officers of Delhi Police on the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) in Seelampur.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Mandeep Singh Randhawa, newly appointed Special Police Commissioner SN Srivastava, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Satish Golcha, DCP Ved Prakash Arya of North East Delhi have been also current within the meeting.

The meeting lasted for more than 30 minutes. Doval had a similar meeting with senior Delhi Police officers late on Tuesday (25 February).

After the meeting, Doval went to Jafarabad and Maujpur to take stock of the situation. He interacted with the local people and reassured them about ensuring peace within the area.

“The situation is under control and people are satisfied,” he informed reporters. We believe in legislation enforcement agencies. The police are doing their job and are alert.”
