Despite this, the team management is in a dilemma whether to field the winning XI or give Sanju Samson and Manish Pandey a match in this series on Friday. Team India is experimenting with the T20 World Cup to be held in October-November this year, but these two players have not been tested yet. India vs Sri Lanka Match, LIVE Score.
In the last match played in Indore, the Indian team had a heavy upper hand in front of less experienced Sri Lanka team. Team India won by seven wickets with 15 balls to spare. In such a situation, Samson and Manish are also being considered. Pandey has played just one match in the three series including the current series. While Samson, who returned from the series against Bangladesh in November, has not got a single match.
Ind vs SL (India vs Sri Lanka) 3rd T20i Match will start on 10th January 2020 at 7.00 pm in Pune, Maharashtra (Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium).
The teams are:
Team India: Virat Kohli (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Shivam Dubey, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Jaspreet Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini, and Washington is beautiful.
Team Sri Lanka: Lasith Malinga (Captain), Dhanushka Gunatilaka, Avishka Fernando, Angelo Mathews, Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Perera, Niroshan Dikwela, Dhananjay De Silva, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Oshada Fernando, Vanindu Hasranga, Lahiru Kumara, Kushal Mendis Kasand Mundita Sandesh.
Young bowlers showed strength
On the other hand, in the absence of senior fast bowlers, Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini have got an opportunity and they have been able to impress. In Indore, both the bowlers took five wickets together. While Thakur was good in the death overs, Saini troubled the batsmen with his speed and bounce. All-rounder Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, and Shivam Dubey have got ample opportunities to show their potential.
After the victory in Indore, captain Virat Kohli said that his team is getting better after every match. He hinted that the T20 World Cup could have the famous Krishna Surprise Package. Samson and Pandey will be a bit disappointed to be sitting on the bench but they might get a chance on Friday.
However, there is also no denying that the team management will choose the playing eleven with the intention of winning the series. The focus will also be on Shikhar Dhawan, who is in the race for the second opener position alongside Lokesh Rahul.
However, this time Rahul looks ahead of him in the race of Rohit Sharma’s partner in Australia. Jasprit Bumrah, however, could not do well in the comeback match on Tuesday but he would like to perform brilliantly in the last match.
Chahal and Jadeja can sit outside
If Dubey is to retain his place in the team after Pandya’s return to action, he will have to perform well when he gets a chance to bat. There are plenty of left-handed batsmen in the Sri Lankan team, so spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar are expected to retain their place in the team which means Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal will have to sit out.
Sri Lanka can give Angelo a chance in Ind vs SL Match
If the Sri Lankan team has to trouble the home team then they will have to work a lot. The batsmen will have to play long innings after getting a good start which they could not do in the second T20. The injury of all-rounder Isuru Udana is also a shock for the team who was injured during practice in Indore.
This did not lead to his main bowler bowling in Indore. The Sri Lankan team can, however, take advantage of the experience in the batting department. Angelo Mathews, who returned to T20 after 16 months, was not picked for two consecutive matches. But he may be in the playing XI on Friday.
