Nirbhaya Case: Delhi Patiala House Court Appoints New Advocate Ravi Qazi For Convict Pawan Gupta

Nirbhaya Case: After AP Singh’s refusal to contest in Pawan Gupta’s conviction, the Delhi-based Patiala House court has appointed Ravi Qazi as Pawan Gupta’s lawyer. The Patiala House Court, while hearing the case, also stated that Article 21 of the Constitution protects the life and liberty of the convicts till the last breath of life.

Explain that the Patiala House Court on Wednesday heard the petition of Nirbhaya’s parents and the Delhi government to issue a new death warrant for the execution of the convicts of Nirbhaya Case. Meanwhile, the accused Pawan argued that he had no lawyer. So he is unable to use his legal options.

At the same time, before Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana, Nirbhaya’s parents and Government lawyer demanded the third death warrant for the hanging of the convicts. Meanwhile, Nirbhaya’s mother said that she had been fighting for seven years and now the matter was hanging on without cause. A new death warrant should be issued soon for his daughter’s trial.

Public Prosecutor Irfan Ahmed told the court that he had issued a notice of the convict, but advocate AP Singh on behalf of Pawan refused to take notice and said he would no longer sue. In this regard, the court has said that in such circumstances Pawan should be given legal assistance.

The court asked Mukesh’s lawyer, Brinda Grover if she agreed to plead in Pawan’s favor, but Grover denied that the case was too complicated. The court then summoned the lawyer’s assistance officer with a list of lawyers and, while listing the prison administration, directed that the defendant be asked to choose either of the lawyers from the list.
