Qatar International Cup 2019: Jeremy Lalrinnunga Breaks 27 Records, Claims Silver: Youth Olympic gold medalist weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinunga claimed three world records along with winning a silver medal in the 67 kg weight category of the Qatar International Cup. In the sixth edition of the tournament, 17-year-old Jeremy broke his own World of Youth and Youth Asian records in Snatch, Clean and Jerk and lifted a total weight of 306 kg.

Jeremy also broke his total 27 international and national records during this period. He broke a total of 12 international records, including three World Youths, three Asian Youths, and six Commonwealth records. He also broke five national youth records with five national youth records and five senior national records.
After this performance of 17-year-old Jeremy of Manipur, his Tokyo Olympics quota has also been fixed as the tournament was also an Olympic qualifier. Jeremy has won several medals in different tournaments this year, performing brilliantly.
After this performance by Jeremy, industrialist Anand Mahindra of the prestigious Mahindra Group was also surprised and called him a future superstar. At the same time, he also demanded Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju to provide him world-class facilities.
