WiFi Calling: Airtel Start WiFi Calling Service in Five Cities: Telecom company Airtel has started Wi-Fi calling service in Mumbai, Kolkata, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on Monday. The company had earlier introduced Wi-Fi calling in the Delhi-NCR circle.

Voice calls can be made through a Wi-Fi network:

Airtel users will be able to make voice calling over Wi-Fi networks through this feature. However, this feature is limited to Airtel Extreme Broadband only. On the other hand, Reliance Jio has also started testing Wi-Fi calling. But till now the official announcement regarding this service has not been made by the company.

Airtel will support Wi-Fi calling feature in this device:

Apple: iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 6, iPhone SE, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone XS and iPhone 11 Pro.

Samsung: Samsung Galaxy J6, Samsung Galaxy On6, Samsung Galaxy M30S, Samsung Galaxy A10S, Samsung Galaxy S10, Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S10E and Samsung Galaxy M20.

OnePlus: OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T.

Xiaomi: Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro.

You will be able to make WiFi calling only when your smartphone is going to support WiFi calling. You can check this by going to the network settings in the phone’s settings.

According to media reports, Reliance Jio started testing the VO Wi-Fi feature in Nashik, Maharashtra.
